As mentioned, we are involved in this process from start to finish including the harvest of logs and materials. All of our harvests are done with small, low impact machinery and much of it is done "the old fashioned way"...by hand.
Materials are harvested from company lands taking great care to protect the woods, soils and wetlands of the site. Any wet or muddy sites are corduroyed with left over slab wood and chips from our mill site preventing excessive damage to the trails. Our current operation in Oneida, Lewis and Franklin Counties, New York involve a "woods crew" for harvesting. Their jobs include cutting trees, harvesting bark, twigs and roots and hand cutting and peeling of certain items. We also employ mill yard people responsible for organization, preparation and storage of all products. We offer native, rough-cut Adirondack pine, cedar and hemlock lumber at bargain prices. In addition, we have a limited supply of high-grade hardwoods including cherry, oak, maple, birch, and ash. Specialty items, mantles, and beams are also available.
